MISSION STATEMENT
Our mission is to provide exemplary and affordable childcare for families in need, and to create an environment in which our future generations will grow and thrive.

About Us

PHILOSOPHY
At Avery Adventure Academy, we’re proud to provide a caring and safe environment for your children. By following our mission, vision and values, we create a nurturing, stimulating, and welcoming learning environment for all children.
Our unique programs incorporate a variety of educational theories, while always keeping the child’s best interests in mind and allowing for hands-on, experiential learning. We build on the strengths and interests of each child to help build a solid foundation where they can develop their futures.

Since our founding, we’ve focused on supporting kids during all transitions throughout childhood. Our ultimate goal is to provide a nurturing environment for future generations, to equip our kids with essential life skills, and to help unlock the potential inside each and every child.
METHODOLOGY
We aim to provide an environment where children of all ages can come to laugh, learn, and play. We believe wholeheartedly in the importance of group play, one-on-one interactions, positive reinforcement, interactive learning, and healthy bonding.
We believe we have a responsibility to aid in the development of our kids' abilities to have happy, healthy, and meaningful relationships. By utilizing composure, encouragement, assertiveness, choices, empathy, positive intent, and consequences, we teach rather than punish. Avery Adventure Academy is all about having fun, but we believe it is important to build these essential life skills from a young age so that your child may grow to have many positive relationships and experiences!
All activities are designed to adequately nurture emotional and intellectual growth. Through stimulating situations and hands-on learning opportunities, children are free to develop into bright young minds.

HEALTH & SAFETY
We are devoted to keeping your children happy, healthy, and safe. It is because of this that we have strict guidelines, practices, and policies in place to keep your little ones at their best!

We sanitize all toys and play areas on a regular basis, and ensure that all dishes and bottles are washed after every use. Additionally, hands are washed after every meal or changing, and periodically throughout the day. Temperature checks are completed just after drop-off, and children are sent home if they are running a fever or exhibiting symptoms.

Daily temperature checks are completed for all employees and household members as well, and those that are sick quarantine away from daycare areas. Smoke alarms, carbon monoxide detectors, and fire extinguishers are placed throughout the daycare, and our evacuation plan is posted.

Avery Adventure Academy workers and household members are fully vaccinated -- including the COVID-19 Vaccine, but Coronavirus is taken very seriously at our location. As such, we go to great lengths to ensure that the proper procedures are in place to combat it. The health and safety of your loved ones is important to us and we do all that we can to ensure that we are worthy of your trust!
CREDENTIALS & QUALIFICATIONS
When searching for childcare, it is important to have evidence that your child will be in good hands. You can choose a safe place for your child by looking for a licensed program, health and safety procedures, and provider training/education.

-
Licensing does not guarantee quality, but it does set minimum requirements and ensure that programs are monitored for compliance.
-
Avery Adventure Academy remains current on its childcare license.
-
All household members passed a background check prior to our license being issued.
-

-
One of our most important responsibilities is keeping your child safe from harm. As such, the state mandates that every child care facility is only allowed to have a certain number of children in each age group.
-
We always stay in compliance with our respective ratio chart and other guidelines set forth by the state.
-

-
Education and training are key aspects of high quality care.
-
Kylah possesses education, knowledge, and experience surrounding early childhood education.
-

-
State childcare licensing rules include health and safety training requirements for adults working with children. Federal law also requires specific health and safety training for providers receiving federal financial assistance as payment. Since we accepts families on state assistance, we are required to be in compliance with these regulations.
-
Kylah has received extensive training on key health and safety topics.
-

-
Nutrition and physical activity are part of your child having the best possible start. For young children, each meal is an opportunity to grow strong and develop good habits. Also, support from your provider is essential if you are breastfeeding, which is why we will help wherever we can.
-
The state requires us to follow rules about nutrition, physical activity, and screen time.

MEET KYLAH
My name is Kylah McConnell -- Kylah Avery as of August 2021. I was born in Rock Springs, Wyoming in 1997. My love for children started when I was rather young, and I think I have my mom to thank for that. When I was a child, I loved going into my mom’s classroom to help set up her room, organize, and plan for her day as a second grade teacher; sometimes, I even got to interact with some of her students. Being someone that young children can look up to has always been important to me, and ever since I can remember, I have had a passion for taking care of people.
In High School, I organized an anti-bullying campaign for my school and went on to attend the Health Academy, which sparked my interest in becoming a CNA. I have held an active CNA license since 2016, even though I am no longer pursuing that career. After getting my diploma, I attended a year of college for early childhood education, then had my son at a young age. He is my inspiration. After being a CNA for 5 years working at nursing homes and assisted living, I decided that I still loved taking care of people, but wanted to shift my attention toward younger generations.

I have now been a licensed In-Home Childcare provider since May of 2021, and I have never been happier! I have always been told that when I put my mind to something, I won't stop until I get there. I wanted to start my own business in childcare with absolutely no knowledge of how to actually do so; I've navigated through many obstacles and hit a lot of bumps along the way, but I made it! I have dumped my soul into making this happen, and I could not have done it without my entire family. I would like to thank these people:

My mom and dad, for always cheering me on and reminding me that I can do whatever I set my mind to.

My sisters, for supporting me and helping whenever I asked.

My mother-in-law, for helping me realize that I could actually make this project happen.

And especially my loving husband, for always being my biggest fan and supporter.

I am a passionate person; I love hard and I pour my heart into whatever I am doing. Being able to take care of children, help them grow, and shape them into actual little people with bursting personalities brings me pure joy. Watching their minds develop and form into something incredible fills me with a sense of awe and inspiration.
This business is my baby, and caring for children gives me a sense of pride that I haven’t been able to find anywhere else. So if you have never met me, or just haven’t seen me in a while, this is who I am.
This is how I founded Avery Adventure Academy.
